Q: Is it recommended to swap a Cummins 6BT engine into a Ford truck?	9/30/2024
A: The Haynes Repair Manual discusses this topic. They recommend installing stronger front springs, if you have a gas engine now. The swap has been done so many times, that engine mounts can be found. An 89-02 Cummins engine is the recommended choice. Then you don’t have to change the brakes.
Q: What oil is recommended for the 5.9 6BT 12v engine?	9/30/2024
A: The Haynes Repair Manual says that you should use 15w-40, but in temperatures below 0 degrees F, you should use 5W-40.
Q: Is Nitrous Oxide recommended on a Cummins 5.9 6BT engine?	9/30/2024
A: The Haynes Repair Manual surprisingly discusses this topic. They said "Are you a nitrous oxide type or person? Moderate investment. Major Power." and "A nitrous oxide system doesn't have to be complex. A lot of bang for the buck." I can't say that I personally would recomment it.
